| Because Herndon is a special
place, with a long, varied history, it deserved its own unique annual
directory, which New Town launched almost 20 years ago. Herndon retains
its Victorian flavor, but has added many contemporary areas, plus
a huge business base. Today it is home to many nationalities. We continue
to report is many attributes.

- All information is verified, as much as possible
- Residential listings carry complete names (and often more than
one), zip codes as well as street names, and there are no abbreviations.
- Each directory cover has been a photograph of a major community
site. Some covers have been devoted to the town's historic homes.
- New Town's business inventory remains one of the most complete
available, because it includes many small firms, and is constantly
up-dated. In recent years, because so many activities overlap,
Herndon and Reston have been treated as a single commercial community.
- Photographs appear throughout the directory, and are volunteered.
- High quality paper prolongs the directory's shelf-life, important
to many who keep every issue.
